It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing completely," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was out Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.
