Major Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
